Professional Practice Illustration

MCAD & TARGET

Tom Garrett’s Professional Practice class collaborated on a student project with TARGET. Students created surface designs for anniversary gift totes for TARGET employees. Many thanks to Ruth Balbach, Group Manager and Designer’s Ted Halbur and Adam Hoppus for creating this learning opportunity for the students.

PROJECT SPECIFICS:

• Tote bag size: 18.5” X 14.5”
• Use at least one TARGET bullseye in you design
• Use only 1 - 3 screen print colors

Minnesota Hockey & MCAD

Minnesota Hockey and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design joined forces on a poster competition this spring. Students in Tom Garrett’s Illustration Professional Practice worked on this project. Many thanks to Hal Tearse, who is on the board of Minnesota Hockey for initiating this project!

5 posters were selected and were given away at the Minnesota State High school hockey tournament. Congratulations to the following students:
